Tips for Making Watermelon Dog Treats
Use silicone molds for cute shaped treats. I like these paw and bone silicone molds for smaller treats, or these paw shaped molds for larger treats.
If you don’t have or don’t want to get silicone molds, ice cube trays work just as well for any of these recipes.
Choose the size of molds based on the size of treats you want to end up with. You can also fill the molds less full if you want smaller treats without buying different sized molds.
When using silicone molds, place them on a baking sheet before filling them. This makes them easier to carry to the freezer.
Frozen treats should be stored in an airtight container, like a freezer bag, in the freezer.
Even though these treats do not have any added sugar, it’s still best to follow the 10% rule. Treats should make up no more than 10% of your dog’s daily calories.
