Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Made with only 4 simple ingredients
  • Easy to prepare in just a few minutes
  • Great for hot days
  • No added sugar or artificial ingredients
  • Easy to customize using different mold sizes

Ingredients

Frozen pineapple and chopped cucumbers in individual white bowls next to a ripe banana.
  • ½ cup English cucumber
  • 1 cup pineapple (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup water

Ingredient Notes

English Cucumber

I use English cucumbers because they are considered “seedless.” Their seeds are soft and don’t need to be removed before blending.

Pineapple

Fresh or frozen pineapple both work well. If using fresh pineapple, be sure to remove the skin and core before blending.

Banana

A ripe banana adds natural sweetness and helps create a smoother texture.

Directions

Wash and chop the cucumber.

If using fresh pineapple, remove the skin and core, then chop into chunks.

Peel the banana.

Ingredients in a blender.

Add the banana, cucumber, pineapple, and water to a blender or food processor.

Blend until smooth.

Tips

Place silicone molds on a cookie sheet before filling them. This makes it much easier to transfer them to the freezer without spilling.

Adjust the size of the treats by using larger or smaller molds. I like these paw and bone shaped molds for smaller treats and these paw shaped molds for larger treats.

You can also make smaller treats by filling the molds only partway.

Silicone molds make removing frozen treats easy, but regular ice cube trays work well too.

If your blender struggles with frozen fruit, add the ingredients gradually instead of all at once.

If the mixture seems too thick, add a little extra water until it blends smoothly.

Storage

Store these frozen dog treats in an airtight container or freezer bag in the freezer for up to 4 months.

Important Notes

Always consult your veterinarian before introducing new foods to your dog’s diet, especially if your dog has allergies, digestive sensitivities, or other health conditions.
