Ingredients

Peanut butter, Greek yogurt, strawberries, and blueberries in individual white bowls on the counter.
  • ½ cup all-natural peanut butter (make sure it contains only peanuts and does NOT contain xylitol)
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup diced fresh strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • ½ cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • ¼ cup cold water

Instructions

Peanut butter and Greek yogurt in a mixing bowl.

In a bowl, add the peanut butter and Greek yogurt.

Peanut butter and Greek yogurt mixed together.

Mix until smooth and well combined.

Dollops of the peanut butter yogurt mixture in paw shaped silicone molds.

Spoon the mixture into a silicone ice cube tray (these paw and bone silicone molds or these larger bone molds work great), filling each cavity about halfway.

The mixture will be thick, so press it down if you want clearly defined layers.

Otherwise, simply spoon it in, keeping it below the top edge of the mold.

Chopped strawberries and blueberries in a blender.

In a blender or food processor, combine the strawberries, blueberries, and water. Blend until smooth. I used my Ninja blender but any brand will work. Blend until smooth.

Spoon the fruit mixture on top of the peanut butter mixture, filling each mold to the top.

Gently tap the tray on the counter to help settle the layers and remove air pockets.

Place the ice cube tray in the freezer and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until completely frozen.

Tips

  • Place your silicone mold on a baking sheet before filling. This makes it much easier to transfer to the freezer without spills.
  • For a different look, fill the molds with fruit puree first, then top with the peanut butter mixture.
  • You can substitute other dog-safe berries for the strawberries.
  • Use smaller molds for small dogs or to create portion-controlled treats for larger dogs.
  • You can halve the ingredients if you’d like to make a smaller batch.

Storage

To prevent freezer burn, make sure the container is tightly sealed and free of cracks or gaps.

Homemade treats don’t have to be complicated to be special. These Peanut Butter and Jelly Frozen Dog Treats are simple to make, made with ingredients you can feel good about, and are a fun way to cool your dog down on a warm day.

Sometimes the smallest things, like a homemade frozen treat, are just another way we show our dogs how much they mean to us.

  1. My dog is sure to love these, but I’m not sure how to keep from getting berry stains on the floor or rug? I live in the desert and it’s too hot to have the dog outside.

  2. Sounds very delicious treats for me and the dogs. Thank you for the recipe, I’m going to try it tonight.
