Strawberry Blueberry Banana Frozen Dog Treats Ingredients

Making banana berry frozen dog treats at home is simple and requires only three ingredients.

Ingredients

Blueberries, chopped strawberries, and mashed banana in individual white bowls.
  • 1 cup strawberries, chopped
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 ripe banana

Directions

Start by washing the strawberries thoroughly and removing the green tops. Chop them into smaller pieces until you have 1 cup of chopped strawberries.

Next, wash the blueberries unless you are using frozen blueberries. Frozen blueberries can be used directly from the freezer and do not need to be thawed.

Place the strawberries, blueberries, and mashed banana into a blender or food processor.

Blend until the mixture is smooth and no large chunks remain.

If the mixture is too thick, add a small amount of water to help it blend. This usually only happens when frozen berries are used instead of fresh ones.

Once the mixture is smooth, pour it into silicone molds. You can use any shape or size of mold you prefer. I like to use these cute paw and bone-shaped silicone molds for smaller treats and these bone-shaped molds for larger treats.

Place the filled molds in the freezer and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight. Freezing overnight ensures the treats are completely solid.

Once the treats are frozen, remove them from the molds.

Store the frozen treats in an airtight container such as a freezer bag. These treats thaw quickly, so keep them in the freezer until you are ready to give one to your dog.

Treat tasting time is always a favorite moment for dogs.

Note: Check with your veterinarian before giving your dog new foods. This is especially important if your dog has allergies, food sensitivities, or other health concerns.

Tips for Making the Perfect Frozen Dog Treats

To make transporting the molds to the freezer easier, place a cookie sheet under the silicone mold before filling it.

Silicone molds are my preferred option for frozen dog treats, but ice cube trays work just as well.

Choose your treat size based on the size of your dog. Smaller dogs should get smaller treats, while larger dogs can enjoy larger ones.

If you want the treats to be smaller than the mold size, simply do not fill the mold all the way to the top.
