Strawberry Blueberry Banana Frozen Dog Treats Ingredients

Making banana berry frozen dog treats at home is easy with only 3 ingredients.

Ingredients

1 cup strawberries, chopped

1 cup blueberries

1 ripe banana

Directions

A cup of chopped strawberries.

Start by washing the strawberries thoroughly and hull them by cutting off the green tops. Then chop them into smaller pieces until you have 1 cup of chopped strawberries.

Then blueberries should also be washed unless you are using frozen blueberries. Frozen blueberries can be used directly from the freezer, no defrosting is required.

Place the strawberries and blueberries into the blender.

Then peel a ripe banana and add it to the blender, breaking it into smaller pieces as necessary for your blender.

Strawberries, blueberries, and a banana after blending until smooth.

Blend until smooth. Make sure no large chunks are remaining.

If the mixture is too thick, you can add a little water (this shouldn’t be an issue unless you are using frozen berries instead of fresh).

Once the mixture is smooth, pour it into silicone molds. You can use any shape or size of mold you prefer. I like to use these cute paw and bone-shaped silicone molds for smaller treats and these bone-shaped molds for larger treats.

Then place the mold in the freezer and let set for at least 4 hours, or overnight. Unless I’m in a rush, I prefer to wait overnight just to make sure they are completely frozen.

Finally, once the treats are frozen, remove them from the molds.

Store in an airtight container, like a freezer bag, in the freezer. These treats will thaw quickly and must be kept in the freezer until ready to give to your dog.

Don’t forget to let your dog have a treat as well!

Note: Check with your veterinarian before giving any new foods to your dog. This is especially important if your dog has allergies or food sensitivities or any other health concerns.

Tips for Making the Perfect Frozen Dog Treats

To make transporting the treats to the freezer easier, place a cookie sheet under the silicone mold before filling it.

Silicone molds are my preferred frozen dog treat mold, but ice cube trays work just as well.

Choose your treat size based on the size of your dog. Smaller dogs should get smaller treats, larger dogs can have larger treats (though they don’t have to have a large treat).

If you want to make your treats smaller than the mold you have, don’t fill it to the top.

A food processor can be used instead of a blender.
